Experienced Marketing and Sales Executive from the Sports Industry
To strengthen or team curfboard® is looking for an experienced Marketing and Sales Executive from the sports industry who would like to join in a leading role.
The curfboard® is a patented and branded new surf skate truck that allows the rider to experience a totally new level of surf and skate on the street. While there are other products out there that try to do the same, the curfboard® has some unique features that provide a clear differentiation and bring an improved surf feeling to the street, park or bowl.
The position will be responsible for planning and implementing sales and marketing programs, both short-term and long-term, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties:
- Develops and manages an effective marketing organization
- Develops and implements strategic marketing and sales plans and forecasts to achieve our Company’s objectives for products and services
- Develops and manages sales/marketing budgets
- Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, social media, and direct mail
- Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
- Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends
- Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets
- Conducts market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
- Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities
- Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
- Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events
- Provides regular marketing activity reports
- Conducts sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
- Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs
- Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product
- Assist in establishing and be responsible for maintaining relationships with existing and new distribution partners worldwide
- Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness
- Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
- Provides market input into product research and development
The position would become part of our leadership team with the ability to participate in a share options program.
The ideal candidate would provide the following:
- Extensive experience in marketing and sales of sports products (ideally surf, skate or snowboard equipment) to end customers in a leading position
- Proven successes in launching new products to new markets
- Track-record in building and managing an effective marketing team
- Track-record in establishing and managing distribution partners
- Experience with social media marketing
- Good teamwork skills
- Communication skills and networking ability
- Hands-on mentality

- Commercial awareness
- Creativity and writing skills
- Good organisation and planning skills

- Numerical skills and IT proficiency
- Fluent in English
- Located in or able and willing to relocate to California, US or Munich, Germany
- Willingness to travel
